Sworn or official translations are carried out by a sworn translator with a licence issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation or an equivalent body. The translation is signed and sealed by the translator.

This class of translations is used primarily for official documents: birth certificates, marriage certificates, death certificates, higher education degrees, residence permits, contracts, commercial registry certificates, Chambers of Commerce, public deeds and powers of attorney, etc.
